Zucchini, potato and corn guild

    Over planting the legumes and sacrificing some while the corn is growing will help feed the corn nitrogen. Good idea, Rick.

    Haven't been able to find how much roots the legume slough off during the growing season, or how effectively the nitrogen is transferred otherwise. The plant legume will slough roots off when it is setting its seed, so if your corn is still in its growth stage this may be of some benefit.

    Then I guess the beans should be planted early enough...

    I just learned how to make a snail fence. I wonder if that works for slugs too?
