We are looking for a couple eager WWOOFers who want to help us continue to develop our permaculture smallholding, in the stunning Slocan Valley of British Columbia, Canada this spring and summer 2012. Our property is on a lovely mountain with fresh creeks, living water and many acres of mossy forest, minutes from the pristine Slocan river and the tiny eclectic village of Winlaw (the coolest place in the Koots).

We have humble WWOOFers accommodations, but lots of good organic food prepared by me a total Foodie and Permaculture Designer (a tasty home grown combination, as a former baker turned SOLE (Seasonal, Organic, Local, Ethical) food blogger www.eatingwithSOLE.worpress.com).

Currently we have 1/3 acre of no dig test zone 1 primary gardens playing with (polyculture / sheet mulch / co-planting / seed saving / and cooch grass solution finding) along with many establish fruit trees and a tiny vineyard. We are amid establishing a food forests with new young fruit trees, and this season we will be planting out some nice grain fields and terraced (net and pan) food systems. We have 30 chooks, and are adding worms and rabbits early this spring, along with turkeys, and of course our guard dogs (keeping the birds and us safe) from the many beasties that live in this wildlife corridor we call home.

We are a young family passionate about building with natural, waste and local materials, we have enjoyed playing with some really cool outbuildings and our new home design: cob, pop can, local industrial waste, cargo-tecture, PSP, green roofs, pole building... etc...

So if you like soil, and don't mind shovelling it, building it and sinking your fingers into it, this might be a great working / learning / teaching get away for you.

Please contact us via this forum if youd like more info or have questions.

To Clarify.. the total acres of the land is 8 (mostly forested) and our primary gardens are about 1/3 of an acre. :)
