Hi, I want to install my first slow combustion stove. I'm hoping to buy one 2nd hand or reconditioned, if I can afford it. I live near Cowra. I'd like it to also heat my hot water, and heat the large open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room without expensive installation of radiators.

I'm also looking for good wood efficiency. And I love to cook!

I'm guessing that the Everhots and others of similar design don't do such a good job of heating the room because they're insulated? Or can you heat the room by leaving the hot plate covers off? I guess the flexibility would be great as then I could also use it in summer.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? Or even a stove they want to sell? Is it expensive to connect the stove to a normal electric hot water heater on tank water? Anybody know what plumbers charge and what extra parts are needed?

I'd appreciate any advice or comments?
