Well that was a stupid thing to do wasn't it? 'Cause that has gone down as the most divine thing any bloke has ever said to me. Lets just say Kimbo, that I am the universe. I suspect this is the case, or at the very least the universe is within me. Which means that you are just one little aspect of me. Given that it is all part of one thing you can't really separate yourself out. You're just another little bit. The herd may seem to be a bigger mass than the Kimbo-being, but really they are roughly the same size. Just too differing thoughts. I think the Kimbo-being might occupy more space in the non-physical aspect of the universe, a bit like an ice-berg. Whereas the the herd occupies a lot of physical space, like a boat floating on the surface, with not much substance in the non-physical. The liked is just a physical world thing, like and dislike don't really exist in the other dimensions. Or at least that's what I think. The herd may not like something, that is because the herd doesn't like itself. The individual doesn't like things because it doesn't like itself. Also I don't think there is any fundamental difference between being the entire universe, dark-matter and all, and being a rats arse. The weird purple light surely exists for both. When you die, you may find there is no death at all. I can't really hold the idea of death as something I will ever experience. I can comprehend the concepts of weird purple light and dark-matter and all sorts of stuff. But I can't really comprehend the state of being dead.
hi Grahame is this a gut feeling, or a path of reason (that i'm finding trouble getting on)....any chance you'd walk me through the reasoning here. i'm not convinced the Herd doesn't like itself. I guess it is theoretically possible for the Herd mind to reach this state - but i don't see it reflected in , well reality TV for instance. The Herd mind - i need to think on this more. When i spout criticism of the Herd psychology, and Herd mentality - then i must assume a Herd mind, but i don't quite get to that point - perhaps it is because the Herd mentality and psychology seems to be nothing more than the sum of individuals copying - which gives the illusion of an entity in its own right... we know that individuals are themselves made of communities - so i should not balk when the conversation suggests the Herd is in fact an entity, with a single mind, made of the sum of its communities. i balk because if it is a mind - it is one that won't be receptive to an individual any more than i am to concerns of gut flora. i don't like the level this puts me - how much glory can gut flora get? - the Herd Mind is not kind to refugees for example - and you reckon it is because it does not like itself? mmmm i get a warm and fuzzy feeling when i contemplate a Herd that does not like itself....i'll just hold that thought for a while . cheers,

Watching mine deal with my place is fascinating. It freaks them out so badly you can see them decompensate before your very eyes. And yes, the one who loathes himself the most & is the most herded is the worst & has the most spectacular reactions. Followed by the the one who is pretty cool & hangs in there in a lopsided orbit till it's polite enough to leave (& not come back for ... oh about 3 years now). Lastly is the junior goddess, who actually gets it, & wants to be cool with it, & tries hard, but it always gets the better of her. After about 4 days she's itching to get away so she can start missing it again. They simply cannot stand the silence. They refuse to face themselves. They cannot function without the disguise of the busyness & the bustle & the flies & dust of the herd to hide behind. Awakening in silence to deal with a day of earth connection, & then going to bed in silence is more terrifying than living under the flight path in a bad neighbourhood in Sydney apparently. The herd projects it's fears onto anything different & proceeds to hate what it sees. That's why they hate refugees. The herd is horrified by their helplessness & vulnerability & need. Most humans will do anything to avoid facing their vulnerability & helplessness. Including letting others die in horrific circumstances - so long as they do it very quietly where we can't see or hear them. The herd loathes itself. It is in agony it loathes itself so much. Why do you think we consume so revoltingly? Consumption - the new god, replacing love, family, community, religion, culture, connection, joy & especially reality. Reality is to be avoided at all costs. NEVER be in the now is the mantra of the day.
In Solidarity god it feels so much better to hear someone else suffering the same shit - the lack of Filial Piety is astounding. when i discovered the term Filial Piety...i fairly shit - that's it! - i've got the lever ( i thought ) to get past the cultural programming of my gens y - i've attempted to convince them that they are truly the victims of some aberration of social evolution and an evolutionary dead end. i cite asia - in particular china - where Confucianism is part of the social psyche....and Confucianism upholds Filial Piety as a fundamental of rational self interest. the strategy seemed solid - try an instil an element of doubt about the smarts in being of the same mind as The Herd, sub Herd western capitalist pigs. I infer a disadvantage - then just fail totally to prove it. they can buy specialists for everything - consequently they enjoy a qualitative improvement beyond the reach of a cash strapped dissenter. i exit the argument painted into a corner - If i had more quid, maybe i could buy some Filial Piety....?

Interesting reading about the herd certainly puts what i experience into context , relatives and friends from the city rarely visit and when they do they cant leave quick enough and i was always at a loss why , they love eating straight from the garden but none of them can even find the time to grow a single food plant . Yes they are frightened im sure the silence gets under their skin i guess they feel dreadfully exposed , this will be one giant hurdle for permaculture . Rob

Hermits - a more enlightened society will be paying for them. The Herd ( my favourite topic ) The Herd are the masses of humans - effecting a copy cat existence - that when viewed at a distance - perform the great dances of societies. Societies are not in themselves at fault, they are after all just the social contract - and this is something of a necessity. It is what the Herd then do with societies, that I for one take issue with. The Group Think that just keeps thrashing the tired, old, often failed and argumentatively redundant patterns.,,or the same that ensure anything actually new, will be in the context of an increment that exists simply to increase market share. This is the era of the vast dumb masses - all doing a line of reason entrenched in the economic rational. It is a massive group think, it is the biggy. For the purpose of this chat, i reckon it is safe to say that anyone not actually playing the game is fleeing it. Profit is the essence of the scary thing. The Herd are trained to be responsive to profit. They are not trained en mass for service to a higher ideal. They speak TV, Their NEWS is the cross rates, and stock indexes. Most of what exists for them in their worlds exists for reasons of someone else's profit! poor bastards; it's not like they can just chose to be a hermit on a permacultured paradise is it? you know that it takes a certain sort of thinking. a certain power to over-ride the programming, to get control of the unit, and then to pilot that baby into agrarian bliss... you can't buy that. i can see myself as a life coach in the near future. Well my computer access is the same but I can watch shortish videos if I can put up with the buffering but it still chews through the data allowance because I only have pre-paid modem with an antennae/wi-fi set up at home. Instead of 200 gig on a plan in town for $50-70 /month with landline thrown in I have to buy about 8 gig for $80. Still better than the satellite deal I had before though!
