WANTED Ice-cream bean

I am after this plant in seed for or any other form that will grow. I am happy to swap for something else or to buy.

 

there is a large ice-cream tree at my daughters school- i will have a lok tomorrow and get back to you.

if its the one in Queensland - there should be fruit at currumbin, caboolture and eumundi markets around this time of year

get them fresh as the seed is not viable for long

where are you maimai??

I think heart garden nursery carries them (or used to)

very easy to grow from seed - - fruits in abut four years

big tree - my young tre hit 6m at about 2yo

got seeds about half a dozen at the moment - more to come next week or so

not many, but they are in damp kitchen paper at the moment.


a couple each to a few SAEs

my tree is tall, open canopy and the fruit is small - about 15cm

This off will end on Monday 15 december as I think the mail to a nd from you will be more than the seeds can last.

PM me before then and get a SAE to me by Wed and it may be OK

hi all,
i just bought a seedling off ebay and i payed $9.95 for plant & postage.
it came yesterday & needed a good drink,
i've repotted it & hopefully it won't take long to go into ground.
just waiting for my carob tree now.

mine had to come out - - it reached 6m high and about 8m wide and still growing

it was only a few years old

ours struggled for 3 years then recently died - seems they dont like WAs dry hot climate :cry:

Hi, I have a large ice-cream bean tree in back yard - each year it drops fruit and baby trees sprout which can be dug
out and planted (and grow quite quickly). I would be happy to try to send you a baby tree - or I suggest you look around
under a large ice cream bean tree for seedlings.

Sorry, I just got rid of my tree — it had major weed potential, sprouting wherever the seeds fell.
But a beautiful tree to look at, with a lovely spread and very cute bean pods.
We live in a high rainfall zone, so in a slightly drier region, perhaps it won't take over.
