Hi Im in the Midwest of WA, Northampton to be precise. Im chasing the above in plant form as I havent had too much success with seeds of agave and lemongrass. I'm currently new to this site and have a heap of answers to problems solved THANKS. Im setting up my 4 acre piece of paradise here using permie principles and having a great time. I can pay for the above items plus postage, I also see that there are a few locals on this site, I would like to know how they are getting on with the current drought here. Thanks in advance Neisha.
Wish you lived closer, I have about ten agave species and I'm constantly trying to find homes for the pups. I hate to throw them away, but I'm running out of room to put them. https://www.lapshin.org/succulent/links.htm https://www.australiansucculents.com/ if you go to a CSS sale you might find a few. https://cssaustralia.org.au/component/op ... is that wa - west australia or was washington? I'm pretty sure that lemon grass is a prohibited import - - vaguely remember seeing it in the West Australian DPI fact sheets - could be very wrong. Just be careful with it. Do you know how big it gets LOL? Ours was over 4.5m tall and a clump of about two square metres from one tiny 75mm pot - it grew that big in two years. Had to get rid of it because sandy developed an allergy to the leaves.
Hi its Western Australia Hi Paradisi, I m in Western Australia, Im looking at putting it in pots for use as a tea and for cooking, I wouldnt put it in the open ground, as you said the quarantine rules are pretty strict for WA, so if anyone in West Aus can help with the above request that would be great. Thanks Neisha
Does anyone have any Lemongrass in QLD? Id love to get some too and I'd rather give money to a permie instead of a McBigBusiness... (sorry to crash your thread)
damnit!!! I was up at kenilworth on the weekend!! I doubt we will be up that way again for a while, would you post it?
I'm in southern Arizona. Here's what it looks like. 50 degrees C. in the summer and about 2 inches of annual precip. The Agaves and Aloes handle it pretty well. I have a small clump of bamboo, haven't identified it yet, but I can't afford to water it like it wants, so it just sits there looking resentful.
usually when i get plants from ebay they have most of the foliage cut off, and just some roots wrapped in damp newspaper in a plastic bag. i can wait until we are up there next time tho if its too much trouble.

Agave for wound healing Laboratory analysis of maguey syrup indicates that its utilization as a remedy by ancient and modern Mesoamericans could contribute to the healing process of aerobic wound infections. Both pyogenic and enteric bacteria appear to be susceptible to maguey syrup. The traditional addition of salt to the remedy seems to enhance the effectiveness of the material in inhibiting the growth of one of the major causes of pus-forming or pyogenic infective processes, Staphylococcus aureus https://www.raysahelian.com/agave.html The sap is antiseptic, diaphoretic, diuretic and laxative The plant contains saponins. An extract of the leaves is used as a soap There is a report that the plant has insecticidal properties, excerpts https://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Agave+americana Together, these data suggest that the Agave sp. analyzed are potential antimicrobial candidates with a broad range of activity. https://www.springerlink.com/content/e44j010860167k2v/ Laboratory study on the mosquito larvicidal properties of leaf and seed extract of the plant Agave americana. https://www.swsbm.com/Abstracts/Agave-AB.txt from https://www.swsbm.com/Abstracts/Abstracts.html (from) https://www.swsbm.com/HOMEPAGE/HomePage.html
