Volunteer Position wanted for 2010

Discussion in 'Jobs, projects, courses, training, WWOOFing, volun' started by TribalDreamings, Jun 7, 2009.

  1. In order to be well organised financially and time-wise I thought i would put it out there now.

I would like to offer my time to any worth while permaculture project either here in Australia or abroad in 2010.

I hold a PDC and have extensive experience in horticulture, as a nurseryman and in garden planning. I have also taught some introduction to permaculture courses.

I am passionate about my work and willing to give my all to a sustainable community/aid project.

If you have a future project planned or can point me in the right direction, please contact me here or direct at [email protected]

    many thanks.

    Tim

Re: Volunteer Position wanted for 2010

    G'day Tim,

good to see people being pro-active in getting out in the world and offering their time.I have been self-funding on projects overseas now (on/off) for the past 4-5 years and had found it difficult to get interest from projects to utilize my skills.Through lots of persistence and networking, I am now finding more projects to assist others to get involved.

I am currently in India project managing the implementation of a eco village/commune and expect to be here for a couple of years.Your skills would be an asset to the project should you want to come here and there is plenty of opportunity to get experience in all aspects of Permaculture. There will possibly be opportunity to get management experience as other project options are happening all the time here.

Please contact me for further info to see where I can assist you with your development.

    Cheers,

    Ringo.

Re: Volunteer Position wanted for 2010

How did everyone go finding projects for 2010? If you’re still looking, I may be able to point you in the direction of an amazing project in Tanzania, East Africa.

The Australian based organisation FoodWaterShelter (fws) has a well developed but growing project in Tanzania, East Africa. This integrated project includes compost toilets, almost 2 hectares of organic gardens and food forests, rainwater harvesting, aquaculture and many more systems. These systems are in various stages of development and aim to meet the living needs of 100 vulnerable women and children.

And now fws is looking for a permaculturalist to take on the volunteer role of Farm Manager for 2010.

Check out the permaculture work of fws at https://www.foodwatershelter.org.au/enviro-systems.aspx, then email [email protected] (fws volunteer coordinator) and [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from you
    Rob Cork
