Would you like to volunteer at a permaculture farm and enjoy the landscape of one of the nicest regions in Colombia Finca “Wayta pata” what means “The garden” en Quichua would be something for you.

    Who are we looking for?

With the idea that conventional agriculture can’t go on forever we started Finca “Wayta pata” in February 2016 in one of the nicest regions of Colombia “Eje Cafetero” the coffee region. 6 years before there was coffee plantation. The next owner removed the coffee and put grass. There are some tropical fruit trees, pineappel and yucca. We are looking for volunteers who like to help us with design and implementation of herbal/vegetable garden and foodforest. To help us out with construction work, painting or developing tourism. We are looking for enthusiast people who like to learn and work on a permaculture farm and enjoy the peace of the countryside.

    What do we offer.

We offer lodging and food and ask for a small contribution to oversee the costs and in order to develop the farm. We also offer a permaculture course to give more theoretical background in permaculture, which you can apply immediately at the farm. Most of all we offer the peace of countryside with a hilly landscape and a lot of colorful birds. You can meet people from all over the world to share with.

    Where are we situated?

Finca Wayta pata is situated in the village of Filadelfia Caldas, 1,5 hour north from Manizales and 3 hours south of Medellin.

If you would like to gain some expierence in designing a food forest, vetgetable- or herb garden, or help us out with other activities on the farm please send me a message.

Hi Isle, I'm interested in coming to Wayta Pata, I just recently spent a month visiting family friends in Medellin and visited their family finca as well. How much is the contribution and permaculture course?

    Hi Isla,

My boyfriend and I are currently travelling and volunteering our way through Central America. We will be in Columbia towards the end of 2017/beginning of 2018 and would love the opportunity to come learn and work with you. Do you have an email or any further information you could share with me? Specifically how long is your minimum stay, how much would you like us to contribute, what does the permaculture course involve and when do you have space?

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you,

    Georgia and Richard
