quite a few posts have touched on the subject of vertical gardening and I think there's an ancient one about growing strawbs in poles - -

here's a bit of vertical gardening from my place:

this one is of some cucumbers (and a chinese vegie) growing in an ex-broccoli box. Hopefully the cucumbers (lebanese) will grow along the guide wires if put from the fence to the house

This one is of the granadilla - it should create some excellent sahde on the western - hjottest - side of the house. Maybe eventually she might even give us some fruit to duck and dodge.

What's everyone else doing for vertical gardening?

no pics at the moment but: peas, beans, gourd, pumpkin, zucchini & cucumbers are all growing vertical at the moment.

also plans to get an edible carport & beer garden established this summer upon which we'll grow our kiwis vertical and then across... oh wow, i think i need a beer now, hey if thats not the power of suggestion then i dunno what is...

thumbs up to beer and vertical gardening!
