I ran across a Cucumber Magnolia, Magnolia acuminata at the Common Ground Fair in Unity Maine. I grabbed a fruit, which is very interesting pinkish flesh, which quickly dried to reveal some orange seeds. Anyone know how it fits into a permaculture garden?

Yet another interesting tree I've not heard of discovered by our members! It appears that the cucumber magnolia is fast growing and has useful wood. Not found any use for the fruits yet ...
