Trench method for tomato plants

    We do something fairly similar as far as planting a lot of the stem. Since we use Bales for tomato growing we dig out deep holes and only leave the top four leaves and growing tip above the bale when we plant out our tomatoes. Works a treat, fat stems, lots of fruits and our season goes from April through November.
