i have a few acres that was fenced with treated pine posts decades ago (as is the case in the entire rural neighbourhood) and have been concerned about arsenic leach into the surrounding soil, and the question of consumption of produce from that soil.

I would appreciate any comments, and any ideas regarding remediation.

This is something that many fungi can help you with. Oster mushroom spawn in particular can clean up loads of poisonous compounds as well as other species.
Check around any woods you might have for fruiting fungi, then take some of those found and inoculate the soil around those posts, fungi are great at filtering heavy metals and other nasty compounds introduced by humans over the decades.

you can also take soil samples and have them tested by a laboratory, just make sure they know what compounds, elements you are wanting to know about. Prices for these tests will vary so be sure to get a quote before you go to the trouble.
