Good day, I'm a New Zealand certified Permaculture instructor working on a project to implement a Sustainable Orphanage in Mexico (Chiapas State). Our goal is to become self-sufficient in terms of food for the kids. Stablished in the Jungle, we will also work on preserving the ecosystem by implementing a food forest strategy caring for the local flora and fauna. The site is in a pristine location with a massive water spring right on site; cacao, coffee, banana, papaya, avocado, mangoes, medicinal plants and hundreds more grow on site. And for the fauna, there is royal eagle, parrots, toucan, armadillo, fresh water shrimp, etc. We plan to recover some of the Mayan pre-Colombian construction techniques among other amazing techniques they still use. A paradise you may enjoy visiting some day. We wonder if you will be willing give us a hand in any way, to a project which is in the implementation phase. More info at: https://igg.me/at/SustainableOrphanage/x www.casahogarsustentable.org We will be very happy make a team with you. Kind regards, Alfredo Rico Whatsapp: +52155-4303-8866
Hi Alfredo and welcome, Your project is inspiring ... and obviously needed. We'd love to follow along with your progress.
Looks wonderful. A few of us started trying to organize something similar in Chile, but had a hard time getting any momentum. Ours was faith based. It looks like you've made some great progress.
