Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? We have a little network of people around here who buy bulk direct from the producer, so I put my hand up for what ever I can get, I did ask for 6 round bales but only got 2. It's just the luck of the draw on who gets in first, the cattle guys don't like the feed being used for mulch, see it as a waste.
Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? On the weekend I bought 2 x 300kg round bails from Coolum on the sunny coast for $25 each. I have previously just bought the smaller square bails $6 each. The muclh was very course and large pieces of cane in it. I think the smaller bails are better and much easier to handle, But I guess it depends on what you are using them for. I wanted to put it out so my pumpkins could grow over it so I don't have to go through the long grass to find them. But I would be reluctant to use it on my other vegies. The guys mobile is 0404 717 316 He might deliver ... Good luck
Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? After many weekends of planning to do it and something coming up preventing it, this weekend we are attempting again to hire a trailer and get the roll. Also will pick up some mushroom compost using the trailer. Also get to finally throw out an old couch  I would be interested in knowing a delivery price for these rolls in the future. I saw someone two streets down with two rolls in their yard. Am waiting to see them in the garden to ask where they got them from. I have sugarcane envy
Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? let us knbow how much they paid, and where abouts you are? please. our agency got s/g bales in this week and yep you guessed it they went up in price as they do each time there is a shortage, from $7.80 to $8.80, and delivery went up from $4 a single drop delivery to $6 for the first 10 bales and .60c a bale there after, which they ahd said something i could have gotten 2 bales into the car and only paid for the 10 delivery. last year the same $6.90 went up to $7.80 a bale after a shortage. no big pellet bales this time, wonder what they would charge for that delivery that is supposed be equivalent to 12 bales. they don't get rolls. edit time: what a stuff up, now they ring me and tell me they have sold out of s/g mulch, like we paid for this stuff on sunday, all they can offer is excuses, so we are getting our money back, they have made similar mistakes before honest they have no idea how to run a business, if it wasn't so convenient i woulda' left last time. anyone know of a supplier near deception bay, even if i have to hire a trailer. len

Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? g'day baz, the best stuff to sue but for me the logistics and health get in the way. for now i have found a bloke from wamuran way and he is delivering 20 bales of pasture grass hay, for the same price the hopeless produce agency at redcliffe/rothwell was going to charge for 12 bales of sugar cane mulch delivered. not sure if this bloke will be a regular supplier but for now it gets me out of trouble. len

Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? Hi Baz I am in North Brisbane and am in need of a load of mulch. I have a trailer available and would appreciate it if you could give me some contact details for your neighbour, or who ever you get your mulch through. You can email me at [email protected]. We have recently bought a house on the northside, and I am trying to get the veggie garden up and running, so I need as much organic matter as I can lay my hands on. Thanks Mango1
Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? Mango1, it's a rake up, pick up and trailer out yourself deal, this large area get slashed every now and then leaving heaps of great mulch which just rots down. Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? Ok, I saw the delivery truck with a load of large sugarcane mulch rolls. I wrote down the phone numbers from the side of the truck. I don't know what the deal is with buying from them but it would be good if someone got back to us about it. 0412 075 626 0431 487 082 this is for Brisbane.
Re: Sugarcane Mulch rolls in Brisbane? I am also interested in buying mulch & have been researching today to find best way. Looked at feedcentral.com.au - you can buy a truckload - but not sure what the smallest amount they will sell. Len, was there a minimum buy for the pasture hay you bought, would they deliver to city do you know? Maybe we could organise an order of hay for a few people? Don't know if this would work..
