    Be nice to the teachers?

I think you need to give us more info. What is your climate, how big is the area, does it have a slope, which way does it face, what is there already, what age are the students, what are you hoping to achieve, are there going to be animals in the system, who is going to look after it during school holidays? Etc....

there are some great publications out there now as a resource for teachers "Outdoor classrooms by Carolyn Nuttall and Janet Millington and "Seed to Seed" by Michael and Jude Fanton are two that are worth reading but I thing that completing a Permaculture Design Course is the best first step
