.... the board is looking very good. Neat smooth, Nice colour, could do with a bit of green maybe  Well done to everyone involved in getting it back in shape. P.S. Theres a few smilies missing
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! I agree, looks good. If only we can get our Avatars back too. Well done though !
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Love the new format! Thanks to all who keep this forum in operation. Your hard work is very much appreciated.
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! I'd like to thanks the guy/s behind this forum for this improvement and particularly for making regular back-ups as, if I heard correctly, just a couple of messages went missing. I was a bit unhappy about speed of the restoration, but now it's even better then before the site went down. On the other hand some feedback would be good thing as I'd like to know what really happened? Thanks again and KUTGW
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Ok, I'll be the voice of dissent: Please, please get rid of the grass border. We could do without the irony Please put the forum back to the wide format before the grass. The border is a waste of space. For those of us on a laptop, it means the space for the actual forum is too small, and that also means more scrolling. The links to the main site are now missing again, so there is no easy way to get to PRI (Oz or US). I find that annoying, but it's also bad for newbies that might not know about the PRI. The bottom line of the header is hard to read: "Designing the creation of sustainable human habitat", because it's white on nearly white. Maybe you could change the colour of the text, or move the words back to the left. Other than that it looks good. When I was on earlier in the week things were looking good - nice clean look, easy links to PRI. (am happy personally with no avatars, as the animated ones were distracting).
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! A little tip for Firefox users: View->Page Style->No Style will turn off all the styling and you'll get a 1995-era looking page (basic, no decorating).
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Yeah, i just noticed that and compared it to one of my (up and coming) forums... https://www.myprogardener.com/forum/index.php The width is slightly narrower... probably 20 pixels. Might be the template.
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! I've never seen a phpBB with a border like this grass one. Your forum takes up the whole screen on my laptop. The permie one takes up 22cm in the middle of the screen with 4.5cm on each side. That's nearly a third of the screen devoted to grass I'm on a mac, and that's in Safari and Firefox.
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Perhaps a Victa would fix the problem Well, i did suggest some more green... :-(
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! I think layered gardens or digging it up and planting a food forest would be a more appropriate permie solution
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Perhaps some wet options... https://www.graphicxperts.com/free_websi ... unds.shtml
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! well - i just learned that it doesn't matter what you do, someone's gonna be unhappy with it anyway - i've widened the forum page for those who complained about that. as for the grass - maybe think of them as native grasses or something? (translation: get over it cheers
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! Where ya been... i learnt that years ago... same day i got married... Now its tooooooo wide [Refer to previous sarcasm for enlightenment] I like grass... helps divide one garden up from the other... and until a month ago, i made a living mowing the stuff. (Additional translation: Still a Bloody good job updating the forum... but can i have my smilies back )
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! OK smilies i'll work on if anyone want to provide me a header graphic that will work better i'm happy to upload it. i just don't have the time to do it right now.
Re: Someone has been busy...WELL DONE! I could make a solid image (gif or jpg). I don't use photohop... just Pait Shop Pro 7 (old Jasc). If thats suitable and someone can throw some ideas in the air i'd be happy to put a couple of different ideas together.
