    Dear Colleagues
I need to pump water from the dam at the bottom of our block to a header tank at the top. I need suggestions regards a good solar pump system.

    Hi Mirrabooka,
Have you made any headway with this yet?
I want a solar pump system too for my water tank, but dont need to pump it quite so far.
My eldest son keeps telling me to check out 'Ali baba.com' for all your shopping needs, but I find the quantity of stuff there quite overwhelming.
You might be able to find what you are looking for though.

Not cheap but best option is a "Solar powered bore pump" work straight off solar panels no batteries needed available from farmer supply shops

When I did the maths for home,I ended up just using my house pump.
I have a header tank at the top of my block and 3 tanks under my house at the bottom of the block.
The lower tanks fill form my roof and are pumped around using my pump the top tank gets filled during the wet season from that pump and I use gravity to water the garden from it.
It uses the same amount of power as if it was under the house.
To add a solar pump would save me that power but cost me the solar pump and repairs, not worth it
I have solar panels on my roof so its a virtual solar pump
