I'd love to Tezza, but my firewall security thingy here at work will not let me access the chat room no matter how many times I try

ha ha... The same kinda man I am...

I'm an internet nazi.. ;) Only I can surf what I please... But there is a method for my maddness.. We had an incident where staff were caught downloading incredible amounts of porn after hours and on the Saturday shift... Now I dont' mind that that to much (in moderation, as I'm not paying the internet bills) HOWEVER in saying that.... All it takes is for someone to open the wrong site that has big Brother watching , and MY network shows up in the logs.. I;m the first one in the shit... And regarding the BB sites,, it is a lot of shit... So ,, to combat this. People at work can only surf what I deem surf-able. If something is availible they let me know and if it is mildly work related (or something like the bank or newspaper) I open it up...

So fire away at me for being a nazi... but I have my reasons. oh I manage a network of 80 computer users, so I can't look over their shoulders all the time. :) We are all seperated by many K's as well which makes it hard.

I manage a team that assess overseas qualifications for membership with the company that I work for and for skilled migration into Australia :)

But right now, I'm going home to my man, my lambs and the trees.

Talk with you tomorrow Tezza (all everyone)

    Good night,
    Fran.

    Wool as insulation

Just a bit of info for you to consider.....

For insulation to work well it needs to trap a layer of air which acts as a barrier between the outside temperature & the inside temp.

As Tezza said, sheep do do Ok with it, except in some cases. Generally the cases where sheep suffer is when the wool is not able to trap a layer of air to insulate.

Many houses have had wool installed as insulation. For a while it was very efficient. Unfortunately, ceilings are very dirty areas and i have seen lots of instances where the wool is no longer doing a good job. This is because there has been so much dust accumulate on the wool that it has compressed it, removing the wools ability to trap the layer of air.

I would suggest that if you wanted to put the wool above the HWS, consider putting a layer of plastic or paper or something to prevent the dust which accumulates in the ceiling space from settling on the wool. Then regularly replace this cover (or clean the dust off).

Thanks Simon, that makes a lot of sense....I have a bolt of calico (cotton material) perhaps that could do the trick.

    Cheers,
    Fran.
