Wow! Thanks for sharing. Its easy to see what an amazing journey this was. What sort of stone are these made from? So much effort in creating them and I cant, for the life of me, imagine what they were used for....intriguing.
They are made of sandstone which consist of small particles with crystal structure. Crystal as we know can store information. So one of the purposes they were build for is to store some knowledge and information for future generations (for us).
There are many places in the world where I can't wait to see what kind of recorded information is stored (Temple Isis, Grand Canyon).... ...and there is a few that I NEVER want to know about, like Houska Castle near Prague.
