I'm very interested in learning more about Uruguay as the possible site for a permaculture oasis I plan to co-create. I've read various things about the weather in Uruguay...having seen it described as both sub-tropical and temperate. I look forward to hearing from anyone practicing permaculture (or interested in doing so) in Uruguay. I'm interested in what kinds of plants grow there, what land prices are like (with or without a stream), how necessary it is to know Spanish, if there are micro-climates, and whatever other info that's relevant and interesting. Thank you!
This showed up on my doorstep this morning: https://www.facebook.com/groups/permacultureuraguay/ May be of some use?
I've started a Facebook group about Uruguay at https://www.facebook.com/groups/501447006642396/ ...quite a bit of info on it.
there is also another group page on FB called Sustainable Living in Uruguay...it's being moderated by an architect who's planning a farming eco village there..could be a great opportunity. I'm planning on visiting and possibly relocating to Uruguay...would like to find some traveling partners
You could try my friend cris curnow on face book he is over there searching for the same thing! Uruguays national tree is a legume Iwish to visit ther as they have good sheep!
