    Move to Bunyip, Victoria :) :) :)

There is a fair bit of land being subdivided in our beautiful little town. This is a golden opportunity to create a little permie haven while still owning freehold land.

Bunyip is a small town 80 km east of Melbourne. It has a current population of around 2000.

There are 1 acre, 5 acre, 10 acre and smaller lots all within walking distance to the town and the Vline Railway station (we don't have or need a car). We have some nice blocks with a north easterly aspect. Further out are larger farms on the swamp and in the local hills.

We have an Urban Landcare, helping people plant up their town properties, a 40 acre sanctuary, an upcoming carbon sink and timber lot. Beyond the town, Bunyip Landcare is extremely active. Peppermint Ridge Farm, a sustainable farming training farm is a 15 minute drive away. We already have alot of forward thinkers.

We have a state park within 20 minutes drive. Jindivic and other gourmet places are within 20 minutes. We have over a dozen wineries. There is a west gippsland Slow Food convivium.

The Bunyip and district Bendigo Bank is to open its doors by August. We have a new supermarket. We have lots of organic vegie growers and I sell eggs and herbs from the gate.

Yes it does sound too good to be true, but this really is heaven here. There are quite a few permies living here already.

What I can envisage is a way to beat the developers through Permies moving here and then having a say about the sustainable future of our town and the form of future subdivisions. (Like the one Geoff Lawton designed in Lismore, NSW)

The new Pakenham bypass is about to be completed. The prices may seem a bit higher that nearby towns at first glance, but properties are taking ages to sell and you should be able to get good deal if you haggle.

You could even buy the cafe and we could have a decent cuppacino!

Please, this is a golden opportunity to create our own little Permie community and have a real say in the future of our environment.

Please send me a private message if you would like ANY information.

    Much love to all,
    Tamara :) :) :) :) :)
