No heavy rains in Eastern Australia until Christmas?

    Talking to an old farmer.

    His comment about last week's cold snap is that there maybe no heavy rains for four or five weeks.

    That the cold span has dragged an unusually (for this time of year) dry body of air over the continent. That it could take that long for air humidity to return to normal levels.

    He is basing this on the last time there was a cold span this time of year, that pushed as far north as this one did. That being in 1986.
