Hi, I'm beginning planting on our land in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. I'm hoping to find some kindred people online I can share information with about subtropical permaculture. TIA

    Welcome Christopher,
Hsinchu appears to be a very beautiful area, are persimmons a notable crop?
Have you looked through the Permaculture Global site to identify other people and projects near you?

Our "Permaculture nursery" consists of a greenhouse for propagating seeds and cuttings into seedlings, a shaded outdoor area to grow seedlings into saplings, and some identified "mother" trees and bushes as source materials. We propagate support species (willows, black locust, pea shrub) in greater numbers than production species at this time to work towards the succession process as we extend out into the shrub-steppe and increase our canopy.
In this sense, our nursery is to allow us to propagate our own diversity in pursuit of foresting the property without resorting to purchasing commercial plants.
