    Gene Logsdon a farmer and author tells about how they did it in the upper midwest, great lakes. They built a similar sized shelter, but covered it with haystacks, think Monet haystacks. Built properly it will shed water and insulate well. Then when spring rolls around you can take the hay and use it for bedding and feed.
