Cathy, Dan the Man has my Skype already, but it is "mmrfbz" , and if you can handle my slow uplink speed, we can speak. I had a very long enjoyable conversation with Dan over Skype. I have not used it much as I have only had it for a few weeks. It also allows phone out from computer to phone line, which enables me to talk long distance with my folks in NYC from here on the farm, well beyond cell phone range. C
Hi Cathy, Just scrolling through the older posts that seem to be forgotten in the wake. I've installed XP on my computer so now have access to messanger. Could you please run me through what it is and how it works, in real layman's terms as I no nothing about it, but am interested. Maybe some others might be interested in it too :?: Tam
g'day tam, it's a nice little contact program and when you build up a list of contacts and they appear online at the same time you are you can then have live chat with them while you surf or browse the web. compatable with web cams and voice as far as i know. i have it very handy when friends come on for some chat. len 8)
Yep messenger is real easy even for computer dummies like me. Load it and it is self explanatory but if you get in trouble i'll get my husband to talk you through it. Cathy [email protected]
Well I can't stand messenger and never have it enabled. I can't stand it bong bonging at me all the time and people wanting to talk when I'm trying to play my game :lol: Also, I feel obliged to talk to whoever is on even though I'm usually not in the mood but I have this manners thing.....I'm working on it though they're proddly not wanting to talk either lol.
Hey Tullymoor, you know you can change your status to away, busy or like I do sometimes, make it look like your offline? Where it comes up "my status" gives you all the options there. That way you only have to talk when you feel like it. Ohhhhhh you mean EVERYONE trying to talk to you at once? Yep know exactly what you mean now!!!! Little slow on the uptake tonight.
Nah, I don't mean everyone at once I mean anyone at anytime LOLOL I'm a bit antisocial me thinks I know I can set the status to away or busy or appear offline but then I figure what's the point. I just don't sign in to the silly thing.

Tam, once you have it installed sign in and open your account. Go to the add a contact and add the addresses above. You can then see who is online (if their little man is green) If you want to talk to someone just click on them and you can start a conversation with them. If the screen popping in and out bothers you go to view an then click on "always on top" I use messenger to talk to my family and friends who all live hours away, save's my phone bill. I also had a great chat with Cathy the other night. If your not in the mood to chat just set you status at busy or away etc. Hope this helps.
