I understand the advantage of nitrogen in the soil, but I am looking for a list of plants that are tolerant of soils with low levels of fixed nitrogen. Anyone have a cheat sheet handy? Would that mainly be root crops?
Many Elaeagnus species harbor nitrogen fixing organisms in their roots, and are therefore able to grow well in low-nitrogen soil https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elaeagnus https://haitireconstruction.ning.com/page/nitrogen-fixing-plants https://www.laspilitas.com/advanced/advroots.htm
