On a brighter note, the sun is leaving us here in the north and heading your way! Winter will be over and less time will be spent discussing.... whatever this thread is really about. I've read it all and I'm still surprised at its longevity.

    g'day pebble,

yep join in hey? anyway if you posted a thread like that and if you did research back i generally don't respond to like those science named threads because they are not designed to really get to the bottom of things and seek truth and bring us all together.

and if you view the ethics scientist work under then it is you are in or you are out no middle ground, like that lady politician said anyone working in the department of meteorology who does not believe in co2 climate change should leave their job. great incentive to manufacture a mind change, guaranteed to encourage openness and honest. so start your thread i have been educated to that degree, it won't change my fears for humanity in this believe it or not science run world, read that diabetes 2 thread in ALS. for me and many others we need to take charge of what we are diagnosed with. like a specialist physician i visited by appointment from my GP he asked have i had any help from specialist doctors, i said yes a knee replacement etc.,. etc.,. no, he said from medical not surgical specialist and after seeing around 12 or so over the last 15 or so years i said no, they had all been a waste of time and my money. even borrowed $600 to fly to sydney and back to see hot shot specialist in tropical diseases he said before i went i will be able to confirm what you have and then give you a management plan, yes he did confirm but said i was not a classic case so he would need to go back the medic journal and say so and a big no, he had no idea how to mange it no one does as science is not interested.

so like i say i see a lot of people being judged by that i mean individuals not groups, so while i'm in the stocks let the rotten tomatos come, my concern is for the poor in this what was a magnificent country not getting proper medical or dental care, people take their med' conditions to the grave that is how the lists are reduced to impress others. i've been on such a list for 5 years now just to move from a 3 to a 2; 3 more levels to go yet, or my demise first. bet it is no different in the US and when others get to tread my path they too will learn. sciences are ruled by ethics written that does not include humanity. nor does it seem to encourage integrity. good chance i'll take mine to the grave too.

dog in the manger hey? suppose while i'm some sort of attention grabber others are being left alone.

yes read and use my signature lines well, they do apply even to me as i don't know everything or anything but i reckon i have a solid picture of what may come our way, but that's my opinion or should i say theory? are we still able to be individual's? the freedom of speech thingy what is it called in the US, the 5th??

    take care all

I am re-reading a great book titled Caliban and the Witch, and just so happens read a passage about what your talking about here Len. The author Silvia Federici says how poor women, folk healers, who were close to the land and were connected to ancient knowledge of healing with herbs and plants were persecuted as 'witches', and that this massive assault on women opened the way for a male supremacist medical establishment that on the whole became inaccessible to the 'poor', and this still continues for many.

    that is history zvall,

that is the beginning of controlled indoctrination into medical sciences there for the profits to be made out of human misery. that is by and large there are pockets of humanity in there thin on the ground though.

just shows how human's can be manipulated into a mob rule. i too was that way once, i also lived in a multicultural suburb driven by other ethics, which did not include child molestation even if the law says that your child is old enough to be taken to bed by another at age 16. who calls for these law changes?

but like the planet things go round what has been will come back probably more ferocious than the last time, with the question of who was first back in a queen victoria and capt'n cook days, if the aboriginal people where here 5k years ago that is beyond any of us asking someone from that time surely. even with dinosaurs, if they where here 4k years ago who is around now to verify or deny that? check back where mark stated a science ethic, to me guaranteed to keep truth out of the equation. i have my ethics unchanged for about 6k years now.

there is a group called "australian's living simply" aka "ALS" check the diabetes 2 thread whee oterhs are wanting more along the herbal natural treatments. shouldn't necessarily join to read it.

Anyhow more witch type hunts in the offing??

    if God's blessing won't work i dunno who's will?

Where the hell did that ludicrous child molestation comment come from? The planet is going to hell in a hand basket and people who profess to know better are in here talking crap for days on end. You're doing permaculture a huge disservice.

Len, are you saying that if I started such a thread that you would stay out of it? Would you give me your word on that?

boy is that the sort oc control wanted in a public forum.

there maybe some comment made but i can't guarantee anything unless you want me to give up the 5th, ALS tied up a topic which then died because there is only so much back slapping one can do to a fellow one. i may be repetative but i come from common sense. latest report from the US they are at a 20 year low in co2 emmissions that satisfies the greens in one sense but not the other as there is not likely to be any sort of carbon tax whilst that persists. sad really that a kiwi has to join the cut freedom of speech march.

i stick with what i first said, if you ahe developed some sort of mistrust of me then you may have formed a judgement, and as yet you really don't know me or of me, then opinion might change. i do present a somewhat public face through our web site.

    take care for now pebble

Len, I am of course talking about your self on this forum. I have no idea who are in real life and I make no judgements about you in real life except that I like your permaculture work that I can see on your website and assume it reflects at least something of your real life.

I am not trying to control anything. My earlier post was about how I didn't see the point in starting a thread about science and permaculture because I think you will disrupt it. You then post suggesting that you won't, and I asked for you to commit to that in a precise way. You have now declined to do that. Which is interesting. Because what's the big deal?, there would be one thread on this forum that you don't take part in, at my request. You want to assert your right to do what you want, which is fine, but it's also fine that I call bullshit on your behaviour.

As for my judging you, all I am doing is judging the behaviour I have seen here this year, and that is visible for all to see. It's not a judgement on you as a person, or your life. It's simply me responding to what I read and how I see that affects conversations here. That is completely reasonable for me to do. So yes I am judging your behaviour, and I am comparing it to how you used to be. I am judging it in the context of this forum and how well it runs or doesn't run. At the moment you spoil some of the good things here. I think that is a real shame, for us and for you. I doubt that you will ever do the right thing here and I guess we will just have to put up with it until it either reaches a crisis point, or people leave.

The main thing about permaculture for me is that it focusses on solutions and making positive change. I see your negative posts now far outweigh the other good things that you bring. I often avoid threads you are in and I'm guessing that others do too.

Dee, I didn't see that post, but have to admit there is alot of content here I am not reading.

It seems to be about some simmering frustrations with some, and between some, forum members, fuelled by some inflammatory posts. In a big family, this is inevitable But i think it is time the kids went to bed now.

I hope we have got it out of our system now and we can go back to discussing some more important issues.
I am disappointed by the personal attacks.
    In future please restrict these
