Jeffrey gets behind alternative farming Tuesday, 22/09/2009 Former Governor General Michael Jeffrey has launched a taskforce to push for alternative agriculture to be widely adopted. General Jeffrey has brought together holistic and natural sequence farming, permaculture and biological farming experts under a banner of Outcomes Australia. He defends the lack of scientific evidence to support these alternative methods. "The evidence is there before your eyes and what we want to do is get the scientific people to come down and tell us scientifically why these methods are being successful," he says. "I think for so long science has been looking at problem areas and been looking at it in penny packages. "I think we want to look at the Australian landscape in a far more holistic way."
Re: Jeffrey gets behind alternative farming ABC news amen to that - its as close to politics as I want to get but it is indeed encouraging that someone with possible clout would be thinking these thoughts.
Re: Jeffrey gets behind alternative farming ABC news G'day well he 's suddenly gone up in my estimation that's for sure. Sounds very sensible indeed. cheers
