Hey it's small but I have planted broccoli. First plant in my vegie garden. The house plans have been approved by council so I now know where the garden can go. Can't do much yet because builders will be driving etc all over. But if I can get some broccoli I will be happy. I also will start preparing soil for the orchard. Can do that and not have to worry about builders running over trees

Exactly where I was a year ago. It all moves very quickly when you look back on it but it didn't feel that way at the time. You will be busy busy busy for a long time :) where at and how big is the block? Any thoughts on design yet?

10 acres at Milang SA. I've some thoughts in my head about the design but nothing concrete. The main thing at the moment is to get the house built so we can move there. And as well as that working on the weed problem that is pretty bad.

Not much you can plant this time of year in our climate , peas , onions is about it for a while fruit trees are out until you know where your going to put them , your on to it put your energy into building as much compost / soil improver that you can , you can have that well out the way of the builders and with your sandy soil will be very valuable once you start your food garden .
