Well I know how they go on but how to get them up there? We are on hilly land and a ladder is not an option.
Do they make a pole type thingy to fit bags over the bunches? Surely banana growers don't use ladders or cherry pickers on the slopes I've seen them growing on.

Commercial growers usually have a custom built 4wd cherry-picker used just for bagging .
Got a fright  one day when one came roaring out of a row , and did a screeching 180 turn and vanished down the next row , the driver a good 4m high . Don't worry about bags , just keep an eye on the bunch 8) . Commercial vars are all dwarfed , back yard types are way to high to be bothered with bagging , I would rather lose a hand or 2 than break my back trying to bag

get a tall mate LOL - I wobbled on the top of a ladder the first flowering then didn't bother -

I've found nothing attacks (madly touching wood and tapping head LOL) though they will now I've said that

our lady fingers are up to 8M tall now that the soil has been bettered from a few years fo chook poo, compost and mulc...so theres no hope

I have bought a dwarf ducasse I hope to replace my lady fingers with- the ladies are just so big - 25-30Kg bunches swinging from the top of a ladder as I swing with it is no good for my buggered back, hips, wife who has to catch me....

do you have bats? possums? we have both but no banana eaters - I think the possums are put off because my dogs pee and poo around the base of the bananas and the neighbour has a movement sensor on her outside light that activates when a bat gets near my bananas

geeting the bags up there can be aproblem - sorry I can't help except advise that if bats or possums get them - get dog poo and lights with moevement sensors

I have not had a problem until now :x The parrots have found them and can destroy a whole bunch in a couple of days, and there still green. My air rifle has stopped them somewhat, and improved the compost
Looks like I'll have to try a ladder, perhaps change to a dwarf variety.
