Anyone got an easy recipe for this? I figure it is just like making toffee using a strong horehound infusion rather than water?
Yip. The only thing that enabled my mum to get horehound down me as a kid was insane levels of sugar. Now I like tonic, radicchio and grapefruit so maybe there's other ways...
I've made it a few times...boil some water, simmer your horehound-Marrubium vulgare, add some sugar and some aniseed or fennel and cardamon, simmer for about 10 minutes. You can have it as a syrup-tastes just like Benadryl! If you strain and simmer for longer, you can turn it into a cough drop/toffee. Beware, Horehound is very sedating, especially when used to make beer.
great stuff i once sold 80 kg of dried horehound to a herb company in toowoomba always wanted the recipie i would like to sell more if anyone knew of any markets for the weed
https://www.weedyconnection.com/database/horehound.html sounds interesting I'm a bit addicted to Italian digestive liqueurs (Averna), I wonder if this might be one of the secret ingredients. repels flies too
