    Hi every one!
Thought Id join a new sight and get even more knowlegable  about all stuff and things.
I live on the south coast nsw, near Jervis Bay.
Ive got a hubby, a 10yr old boy, a 2.5 and 1yr old girls,2 dogs 4 cows 10 chooks and whatever else comes to visit us!
I like growing things, and Im usually pretty observant, but today in my garden, I was looking at my little banana shaped rockmelon (doesnt look anything like a rockmelon  ) and was wondering if it was ever going to amount to anything, when lo and behold, I moved a leaf, and there was a thumber rockmelon, about 40cm long.... must have had my man eyes on before  :D
Anyway, hope to really rack all your brains.... chat with you soon

    strawberry companions??

    Hi Giget & everyone
Welcome! I am also new to this site; and wish to become more knowledgable and more confident to speak with others about permaculture too, have posted on an other part of this forum. I live in canberra with husband and 3 boys, 10, 7 & 5 and a guinea pig named chocolate (mmm - name sounds delicious, Bill said that guinea pigs are great on the bbq and with a name like that she had best watch out  ). We try to grow what we can in the garden currently pumpkins self seeded from compost. We have lettuce, bok choy (which looks a bit moth eaten) and have just put in some cauliflower, broccoli and spring onions, have planted them with lucrene seeds as a mulch/nitrogen source - hope it works, never done it before. Have been in Canberra for about 20 months, previously in Western Australia came here via Tasmania for 5 months, so the climate is very different from WA but not so from Tassie. Well, we should be here a while longer I guess, looking to build a home here and do a permie garden.
Anyway, someone has asked my husband (at his work) if there is a companion plant for strawberries? Does anyone know? Is there a good site with all this information out there? Well shall check back later to see if anyone knows anything and shall do some googling myself. Bye Leanne
