Finally I have found the place where to project and build with permaculture principles.
It is an old mountain house between the dolomites and Venice.
My final goal is to build a sustainable resilient place where to live (not just during week end) selling the surplus.

    helllo and welcome!

    sucn an adventure! :)

is there any topsoil remaining? if not you can rebuild it in time.

i learned someting new this past week. before i'd known about lining up rocks on the surface to help slow and sink water flows and to create hedges, windbreaks, treelines from such, but the folks at Sadhana Haiti in their video were taking old clothes and including them in their rock barriers to capture and slow even more water and to help trap every little bit of topsoil flowing away.

using cotton rags and other biodegradeable fabrics if you have them for free or very low cost. good idea!

or using any other weaving type organic materials (grasses, stems, ...)

Wow, that was awesome Enrico! What a beautiful location ... did I see a spot of snow up the valley from you in the video?
Plenty of room in your house and already with solar PV collectors! Are you completely off-grid?
That little drone really gives a unique perspective on your property, good work!

A lot of rooms, yes! It could become a B&B ^^
The highest mountain you can see from here is the Pasubio (2200mt - 7718ft).
PV plant is a 3kWp ON-grid. Anyway I have also an off grid inverter in order to turn on the lights if a huge energy crisis shut off the "main" switch of national grid. I am just a little "prepper" oriented ^^

how much area is yours? is their a boundary map or topographical map? love the views!

i see one thing though, if you have to bring in anything it's all uphill, so plan your trips wisely and use every visitor as a conveyance of needed materials. like if i say i'm going to come and retire there and help out you tell me to bring a few kilos of something valuable tha you'd need. trace nutrients, seeds, trees, books, canning jars and lids, etc. :)

other things that come to mind are trapping and keeping your water up as high as you can and that will also help keep your water supplies up and also keep the topsoil in place. very careful with earthworks at those kinds of slopes!

i have not looked up where you are at on the map and am not sure what sub-alpine means, but i'm assuming you do get some cold weather enough to grow apples?
