    I haven't been here on the forum in a long long time. So I am re-introducing myself. I live in Largo, FL where the soil is extremely sandy. We have a long hot and wet summer. And the winters are a bit chilly sometimes with occasional frost. Most citrus grows well here. Kitchen gardening here is very difficult because of insect and squirrel predation. :)

    Maybe you can predate right back at those squirrel....

    Welcome from an Aussie. I don't know if our deserts are the driest, but they certainly aren't wet ones!

    Sunny, are you in contact with any of the community garden people down there?

    I studied at USF Tampa (graduated 2010) and was involved with a few organizations down there. If you want, I can PM you some of their contact information. I know a few of them are permaculturalists, and all in all excellent folk who love to share.
