    hello everybody,

I am so excited to find this lovely forum. I have been interested in permaculture and forest gardening for a few years, and have a small but productive garden. This summer my family will be returning/emigrating to Australia (Melbourne is my hometown). We are really excited about our new home, which we haven't personally visited yet, but has lots of potential for a more independent and sustainable life! I hope to get lots of great ideas and advice here!

    Greetings Kiri and welcome,
Congratulations on your upcoming move to Australia! Looking forward to hearing about your new home and projects. How much property will you be working with?

    Hi Bill,

Our new place is an outer-urban block about 2720sqm (2/3 of an acre). The previous owners planted a mostly naive Australian garden, with large expanses of lawn, but also had an area for veggies. We hope to expand the food growing areas and get some chickens, and install water tanks and solar PV. I'll make sure to share my plans here onc we've moved in!
