    fathers day

    as a veteran parent, single dad;
    ( 4 sons, baby was 5 months when i took on the job), then stayed single for 15 years fully maximising my utility )....before i made a daughter....

    i am qualified to comment.

    i received jack.....dick...zip...nada etc.
    i didn't even get a call.

    1 forgot, and 3 agreed Father's day was precisely the sort of institutionalised group think that dad is always crapping on about...., and decided to rebel.

    when i cried rip off, typical betrayal of beliefs and values,,,, just so gen y....

    they suggested inconsistency....
    and i countered; no just a parent sucker fed up with being treated as a chronic illness....

    i reminded them that Christmas, Easter, the queens birthday, the Melbourne cup, the v8 Supercars, AFL grand final, and mothers days was the sort of ritualised consumption that i railed against and that in fact the only fkn day of the year that had a modicum of value to me is fathers day,,, what with being a sole father and all;

    and on that day they made their stand against consumption - right down to bandwidth.

    memorable for the fact that no one else did.

    kimbo

    ( i am still post fathers day, you can tell can't you? )

    ps
    i had not seen so much money in 8 years of homesteading....then one day my kids decide to save me....
    with a fkn rental and employment.

    They act in concert, they co-opt, they are supportive and dam active...

    and they really want me cured of this 'greenie shit' and over what ever other mid life crisis, drug induced weirdness that has consumed me, the old man.

    they are totally sure what i need is a white van, and some cool installers job (foxtel fk me)....just like the good old days when i had money, a job, a collar....

    and this subtly plays with my emotions like a gutting knife.....

    the paradigm is " he with a basis for comparisom (age & experience) is totally disbelieved by those who don't"....worse than,,,

    they seek to 'fix' him.

    god is laughing at me and pissing on me at the same time i swear and i could cope if i had a genuine acceptance of it.....as just some god joke....but the pagan in me keeps looking for reasons....upbringing?

    and god starts laughing and i feel pissed on more.

    but i digress...i was thinking of fathers day, and progressed to life afterwards.
