In Spring of 2010, together with our Chicago based partner organization Project Focus, we created and implemented a solar-powered Internet training center that provides free Permaculture training and Information Technology (IT) training to local farmers and youth in Uganda, East Africa.

In March of 2011, we hosted a renowned permaculture trainer and storyteller Warren Brush and his co-trainer Daniel Parra Hansel in Uganda and they helped us trained hundreds of farmers at no cost. These great guys helped us pioneer permaculture training in Uganda. Our work has benefited over 120,000 people since 2008. We love permaculture and we love our farmers, that is why all our permaculture trainings are free for small-holder farmers.

In 2015, Vancouver based Lush Manufacturing gave us a $5000 SEED grant that supported training 7621 farmers in 2015 alone. This year, we want to train more 33000 small-holder farmers in permaculture design

WHY IS OUR PERMACULTURE PROGRAM IMPORTANT?
    - We all need food and farmers to grow it. We need farmers and school children who grow food in an ecologically sound manner.
    - We're creating a community where people can reconnect with their food source. We’ll be offering hands-on learning at farm events throughout the year.
    - We're focused on regenerative agriculture and restoring the land to a healthier state. We are conserving for our future food and environment systems

    WHO BENEFITS?
Thousands of farmers will be able design their own environments and build increasingly self-sufficient food production systems and regenerate the ecosystems that provide for their communities.

School children will be trained and given fruit trees (mangoes, papaya, oranges, jackfruit, bananas and even coffee) to plant in the schools, homes and communities. They will have control over what they eat!

    WHO WERE ARE
We are ICOD Action Network; we are an East Africa based nonprofit. Our work extends beyond material support and touches upon the need to empower communities so that they can find solutions to their most pressing problems. Our work has benefited over 120,000 people since 2008

Our team works hard every day to ensure our works sustainably benefits communities and farmers we work with. Please join us to make permaculture training available to farmers who need it most, we have only 4 days left.
