Hi everyone, my name is John Flatberg. I live in southern Utah and, with my wife Rhonda, own a property called Heartwater Farm; 20 acres of very diverse land at 6,500 ft. I have owned this land since 1981 and have lived here full time for about 15 years. We have built an off grid house, both power and water, erected two growing domes, a garage/shop classroom and been working to rehabilitate the land from the beginning. It is our intention to further develop the property into a PRI demonstration farm. You can find out more about me under my profile on PRI. I am terrible at on line communications so be patient with me, I'm trying. I am very interested in land succession in permaculture. I received my PDC from Warren Brush in 2012. I wish I had discovered Permaculture 30 years ago. Thanks for being out there in the permaculture community. John

Hi Selim, thank you for the greeting. I would love to show you a picture of our solar systems but I have not figured out how to upload a photo to the forums yet. The picture button asks for a URL but I want to upload from my desktop; any clues?

Your web site GreenTech Center is very nice.

Hi John and welcome. Your photos look great. Does your solar PV array track? It looks like you have elevation adjustment, do you adjust the elevation quarterly? Monthly??

Hi Bill, Thank you. The array does not track. The trade off of watts to dollars makes it cheaper to just add solar panels in lieu of moving parts. We live in an area of abundant sunshine.
I looked at your web site dryclimatepermaculture today. Good job! I will be returning there to learn some more. And as a Matrix fan I love the truth. I move the rack quarterly. After a few revolutions in mounting panels we went with these guys for a sturdy panel mounting system https://generalspecialtiesmfg.com/. I think this is a good place to practice my forum skills, boy am I rusty.

    Hi Selim,

My inverter is a Xantrex SW 4024 Inverter. It is now discontinued but in its day has been a workhorse of the off grid industry. It is a 4,000 watt inverter.
