been thinking on this for a bit.

for these people i for one would have no answer, and i am not alluding to diet in the sense you state, i have been forced fed form professionals the diet regimes one for all almost that deliver nothing but health issues, as they don't account for variables, like in my case intolerance to all grains and gluten.

just that say because of climate there is not enough opportunity to sun exposure and a person eating good food for the production of vit' D, how do they get on if they can't take supplements? how would they bolster their immune system to fight the annual onslaught of viruses?

i have always taken vit' C and when i felt a sniffle coming or had an imminent hospital procedure coming i upped the anti on C it all works that much better with D added in i also add in B, the doc's are always on me about having flu and pneumonia shots but i won't have them, my opinion they further weaken the immune system, also a friend had his pneumonia shot and 3 moths later got pneumonia (which he has never had) and almost met his death they were talking to his wife about pulling the plug and thankfully she procrastinated, when he came around.

i have a very slow metabolism, nothing the medics can do what i do to try and fire it up is eat hot chilly and curry dishes, outside of that i just accept.

anyhow my wishes go out to anyone who can't take supplements

I dont know if some people can't take supplements. My point was simply, not everyone is the same, everyone's metabolism is different. Therefore not everyone can be healthy on the same diet.

A critically acclaimed internet classic, The Dark Side of Wheat is now available to own as a downloadable document exclusively from GreenMedInfo.com. It includes two hard-hitting essays that represent a seachange in the way wheat intolerance is comprehended; no longer a rare, strictly genetically-based disease, wheat is revealed to be a species-specific intolerance, whose role in health and disease has been greatly misunderstood since ancient times. The downloadable document also includes a 90-page quick reference guide containing hyperlinks to research on the National Library of Medicine on over 120 diseases that have been linked to wheat consumption. The Dark Side of Wheat has changed many minds about the exalted status of wheat among secular and sacred institutions alike.

grains are too hybridised to suit farmer/growing conditions and bakers and the like, that is why modern grains no longer work in the human system like they once did. and as medical and science had no wish or desire to do testing to prove all our immune system damage comes from conventional chemical hybridised/GMO farm produce they will never develop a satisfactory test for any intolerance, and allergies are 2 completely different things, my allergy test to all they test for are normal.

now the only way we can get anywhere at all is to use anecdotal and science and its worshipers detest anecdotal. i invite you to visit ALS/Aussies living simply site, we have a good topic on DB2 running, most is my personal anecdotal but my system has improved and i can honestly say where teh doctors and specialists had no idea. now i don't really look forward to reinventing the wheel of my anecdotals here it is involved and in sequence.

in short the frist response was from taking "bitter melon" supplement eating BM will also work as i worked out, i also take "colostrom" to help my weekend immune system, result chronic fatigue syndrome(syndrome actually means medicine and science have no idea what we have or what has caused it, they could care less as profits and shareholder returns are more paramount in medicine nowadays), so along with those 2: i am on zinc supplement (dr's don't deal in these procedures), Vit'C' with Vit'D' the two go together and Vit'B'

i would rather suffer than have any immunisations to prevent flu and pnuemonia, even the latest push for oldies to get whooping cough, crazy world. i feel all and any of these may further weeken my immune system.

what other do is their business, if what i do helps others that is good would rather see prevention than cure, oh! and insulin for DB2 patients might be very dubious they seem to be pushing even 1st time DB2 patients onto the stuff, i also believe there are 2 distinct DB2 patients: 1.. DB2 hypo; DB2 hyper. simple deduction a hypo DBer only needs to pop a jelly bean the hyper DBer can't do a damn thing to bring levels down, which i have done in the same time have trimmed metformin in 1/2 and stopping insulin. now after 10 years i am able to stomach bread and pasta without spikes, not saying doing that is healthy with all the preservative additives in bread and the GM modified yeast so bread rises within 2 hours not 12 as the way natural yeast works.

    take care
