Hey all, This may be a no-brainer but continuous failure brings me to ask the wide world. I can not get parsnip seeds to germinate. I have tried soaking overnight, sowing directly, sowing thickly, and still no germination. Am I missing something? Cheers, magic
Re: germinating parsnip seeds parsnip seed needs to be fresh, it has a short viability of about 1 year! if you can't get reasonably fresh seed, try saving your own, it will take awhile, as it is a biennial. search on the internet! join seed savers network, they list local seed networks for each state
Re: germinating parsnip seeds Magic, Parsnip seed has to be fresh fresh fresh. Even then germination can be a bit sporadic and take a month. Check round the seed shelves at big stores and look at the best buy dates. It is the only time I would bother. cheers,
