My husband and I with our little dog have been living on the Gold Coast for ten years and at the moment we are wanting to build an off grid home on our five acres two hours from Brisbane. We are 90% Vegetarian but we do eat fish. We are newbies to this sustainable living although it has been in our minds and hearts for over 20 years.
I am here wanting to hang out with like minded people and learn how the heck I am going to make this all work. We decided to just do it and see what happens. When our children were young we felt we had to be in the city to offer them a life as both of our skill sets were city orientated and the idea of making a living remotely was not yet a viable option. On line working life was still a dream yet to be developed.

    Hi Shazartist and welcome,
How far along are you in the process of moving to your property? There's plenty here to stimulate your creativity in living on our planet, everything from earth-sheltered homes to aquaponics to mandala gardens. What's your next step?

welcome! always fun to talk to people starting out and
figuring out what they want to do.

for a piece of property the more time you can spend there
observing before making big changes the better as you'll
get a sense of the air, sunlight, water flows, animals, plants,
etc. it is much easier to do some things early before you
have other structures or utilities in place. where i live now
almost everything is retrofitted and it is a challenge... :)
