    Thank you Burra!

What an excellent book, and free download too! Written by David MacKay, professor of physics at the University of Cambridge, it presents a total survey or mankind's energy history, current usage, available energy resources, and a prognosis for the future. He tellingly dedicates his book to "to those who will not have the bene?t
of two billion years’ accumulated energy reserves"

It's well written, easy to read, humorous, full of graphs and charts, and most of all, cuts thru the BS and gives us real numbers in support of his analysis.

    Superb! Great find!

Aww - missed you too, Kimbo!

Dunno 'bout broadband, but the dial-up (with hyphen, just to annoy you..) isn't too bad these days.

The book is available to download as one huge lump, or as several bits, and can also be read online, so it's worth checking out even if you don't have broadband.
