I am building in outback Australia on the edge of the desert. Temp range from -3c to 50c
I am interested in employing an energy consultant to view the concept plan then advise on solar thermal mass etc.
Is there a list of contacts of consultants for this requirement?
Does the permaculture community have these advisors within?

    Greetings Fimfie.
Your biggest interest may be passive solar of which I have little experience or knowledge of experts. If you also. need solar-electric resources, there is an outstanding forum with loads of very knowledgeable people at https://forum.solar-electric.com. I've seen occasions when they have been critical of solar installations posted by homeowners but in such a positive way that the professional installers then joined the forum, acknowledging it as a valuable learning resource and something they could learn from.
I was very fortunate to move into a modestly passive solar house with loads of shade trees and an interesting palapa (palm leaf) roof that keeps the house much cooler than my tin-roofed garage. The concrete block house can be as much as 5 C cooler than outdoor shade. That unfortunately also happens in the winter but I am fortunate to live in a climate where the winter climate remains warm enough to require only minimal heating.

    Hi Fimfie and welcome,
While I'm not aware of a list of consultants for passive solar, there is a lot of knowledge both here in the forums and within the Permaculture community in general.
I don't where you're planning to build, but here's a designer in Western Australia: https://www.designforseasons.com.au/design-principles/passive-cooling/
GreenSpec has a variety of thermal mass specifications and calculations: https://www.greenspec.co.uk/building-design/thermal-mass/
Tell us a bit more about your design plans and concepts, maybe we can better address your questions.
