The Greens have a big swing against them which could mean no more Green Party.

I haven't observed a 'crazy Milne'. No. I have seen an articulate, compassionate, intelligent woman speaking for a party who propose policies which are the most in line with my own thinking of any on offer.

Please enlighten us! And please do not call me 'mate' it is a familiarity that I find offensive from someone I have never met.

a message to mark in this post,

some of the difficulties of getting people to unite fro the common good, we can't use common terms in a front of friendship. i get this most times in the yank garden forums, we are from downunder and know absolutely nothing, delivered in condescending manner. like here i just move on.

my word no political party can or is going to save us.

and for me, as for getting involved in another countries politics, that is a big no no.

I'm sorry if you thought I was being condescending. Using mate in Oz it like using Buddy in the US.

I think you are being disingenuous Peter.

Do you think in America when someone calls you Buddy and you say, "Don't call me buddy" and they say "That's OK buddy!" it would not be considered deliberately provocative and offensive?

It is also of no value for you to come into a thread, where people are discussing something with thought, care and interest and you throw in a bomb like "Have you checked on the crazy Milne?". That is not only offensive, but it is childish and inane. And it's not the first time you've done it. People here are more than happy to discuss your views if you offer any supporting evidence or even any real point of discussion.

If you are being genuine then please think about what you are going to write and why and what sort of reaction you can expect before you hit send. For example, what reaction were you looking for when you made your posts, what reaction did you expect, what reaction could you have reasonably expected? particularly within the context of the thread so far?

I wasn't looking for a reaction. I simply wanted people to check out the Greens to make sure they are voting for the right person.

My local senator used to be Barnarby Joyce and I looked closely at him and I find that deeply disturbing that he would be a a major part of a coalition government.

I had trouble with this poll also, as it doesn't break the vote down into upper and lower house. I intend to vote differently in each - which probably lets on to how I am voting.

I can only go by logic, intelligence, motivations and actions.
Anyone who believes in an illogical concept of exponential growth with finite resources is instantly dismissed as a nut job.

There is a political ad, run by Get Up, criticizing Murdoch for his deplorable news headlines. The ad tells Murdoch, thanks but Australians can make up their own minds without tabloid crap.

Surprise, surprise, channels 10, 9 and 7 will not run the ad giving some pathetic excuses.

    So much for independent media.

I thought they were all independent, but anyway, that's democracy.

When media pushes a certain agenda, it's propaganda and it's not democracy. It's fascist.
