Even double income families without kids, and on large incomes (D.I.N.K.s), do not save the purchase price of a house to buy it….not when the houses cost upwards of $350,000 (Aud), and at the level of DINKS with cash flow; upwards of $ 500,000…. that is 1/2 a Million Dollars !!


The problem with being gen Y or Z; is that you really don’t have any basis for comparison, you just have not lived long enough, which is not your fault. Locking yourself into the prevailing generational group think is your fault and worse. It is your disability.


Take it from a ‘boomer’….there is nothing normal about $ 500.000 ‘personal debt’.
‘Sure business does debt, commerce does debt, the rich do debt…’ and that is their problem ! We are talking about your home (man), where you live with those you love…..is it really wise to confuse the two? Home with Business.

Should we ever sell our homes for wealth?


When the reality is; that’s why you bought the so called home for in the first place.
If you sell your homes, do you even know a ‘home’….as I am using the word.


Language Check: Homes as i know them evolve over many years to become the special place.
The process takes so long that it is hard to experience many ‘homes’ , rather easier to have lived in many places….and none of them a home.


Homes are multifunctional designs, they aren’t just where you keep your stuff….your food supply is there, your water, your security…..

or maybe you don’t know this ‘feature’ of homes.


So I’ll call these things homes and you call your thing ‘Houses’….Homes are different from houses. If you only know a home as the house where you spend your time, then it is

as I said previously;
‘you really have no basis for comparison’, you don’t know

 

I got past the quandary of housing by re-classifying modern homes as ‘redundant’, old thinking.

I am not able to define the replacement for modern housing, suffice to say that I have no need for the paradigm ’housing’ when the paradigm has changed to ‘safe, healthy, dynamic, responsive, resilient, dwelling zone’.

There is no alternative to the modern house because it is a stupid money making thing and has f*ck all to do with what satisfies needs and is comfy and secure and good at all levels beyond the bloody economic rationale.

You see it everywhere, people looking for a lifestyle, buy a rural 5 or 10 ac and stick a McMansion on the bastard....these are the lifestyler blocks glutting up the market, failed.

 

This article is intended to challenge the reader to consider the group think behind the paradigm ‘housing’ and note the difference between a house and a home. It advises that a ‘home’ liberated from the group think of ‘ house ‘ may also be liberated from the group think of ‘debt’.

This said, it asks of the reader to re-think, re-assess and re-value. There is the proposition that a home might be a dam lot cheaper without a house, and even a dam lot smarter, cheaper, more comfortable, more functional… a totally new paradigm.

Follow no one ; invent your answer to transcend the ‘group think'.,,,,and maybe, find easy road on the less trodden ground?

or would you rather be 100% clapped out from courageous glorious principled endeavour, knowing at a depth that your creation has paved a future for your descendants and that no matter how the shit falls your acts, live.

Resources:
aprox 10 km from DOH, an un-manned, un-locked, active, municipal landfill site - a good old fashioned country dump.The client "mines" it. He uses it like a bank, but never makes a deposit.

Life Support:
you can practically slag* and hit the magnificent Dryandra Woodlands
(from a good high point on DOH on a windy day),
Dryandra (the region) statistically is the place in WA where people live the longest!

Funding Streams (distinct from income production)
DOH nailed funding under the EnviroFunds grants of 2006 -
After strategically becoming a "Land for WildLife property" very early.....the client, gets offers of grants now....he declines them.

Water Wealth:
the client has a catchment that was tweeked with aprox $30k AUD of hydrolic engineering. DOH was an abandoned corporate endeavour of the 70's. The client was suitably impressed, he has silver perch in one dam, and yabbies are thick.

Food Systems;
protien wealth in the Acacia / Santalum combo, never mind the chooks, and livestock.
fruit orchards that self irrigate because they are in no zone other than where they will grow the best.

Home Systems;
constructed piecemeal, ad hoc, on the fly.....bent to Satisfaction of the Health Act....smote with the realities of the Building and Construction Act....shades of 'Earth Ships' but - bush and Aussie as mate.

Security Systems;
a legal arsenal because the client is a primary producer, registered stock brand and all.
off the bitumen, off the gravel, down a track, through front gates, into designed confusion as a rabbit warren of tracks lead the unwary to all sorts of unpleasant shit. Threatening signs that increase in intensity, a forced 'stand here' spot in perfect sight of a fake machine gun bunker. Dog packs, geese, feral kids with slingshots, car wrecks positioned up slopes,,,the usual stuff
