    For several years we have been giving young people the chance to delve deeper into the topic of self-sufficiency with permaculture and especially the edible forest garden at the Permaculture Center Austrian Forest Garden Institute. We are currently offering internships for students within Erasmus+, this applies to bachelor's and master's degrees, but also to doctoral candidates.

    Put simply, the European Union pays students within the framework of Erasmus+ travel, pocket money for board and lodging for an internship abroad. This requires a sending organization (e.g. university) and a receiving organization (e.g. Austrian Forest Garden Institute).     Internship at the Waldgarten Institute construction site (m/f/d) 40 h

    We, the Permaculture Center - Austrian Forest Garden Institute have one of the oldest edible forest gardens in Central Europe and cultivate a vegetable garden according to the principles of permaculture. We are currently building our institute building. For the year 2023 (March to October) we are offering an internship for students within the framework of Erasmus+ (m/f/d) for our construction site of 40 hours per week.

    If you:
    – like to work with natural and recycled building materials and can also get hands-on, physical fitness is important (work with hand tools and electric machines)
    – have a good technical understanding and want to expand it
    – have good manual skills and visual imagination
    – you are interested in traditional building techniques and knowledge
    – enjoy working in a team, but can also plan and implement your own projects
    – are enthusiastic about permaculture and an ecological lifestyle
    – has good communication and reflection skills
    – are looking for an exciting and varied field of work
    – want to be part of a vision of a natural lifestyle

    Internship Permaculture&Forest Garden (m/f/d) 40 h

    We, the Permaculture Center - Austrian Forest Garden Institute have one of the oldest edible forest gardens in Central Europe and cultivate a vegetable garden according to the principles of permaculture. For the year 2023 (March to October) we are offering an internship (m/f/d) for our permaculture and forest garden of 40 hours per week.
    Permaculture in the home garden

    If you:
    – like to work in the fresh air and can also get down to work, physical fitness is important (work with hand-held devices)
    – have a good knowledge of plants and would like to expand it
    – can deal with people and plants
    – get excited about permaculture and forest gardening
    – you are interested in gardening crafts and knowledge
    – Are interested in organic cultivation, harvesting, processing, storage and sustainable projects
    – like to work in a team and independently, contribute your ideas and be able to implement your own ideas
    – has good communication and reflection skills
    – are looking for an exciting and varied field of work
    – want to be part of a sustainable soil culture

    Internship in the publication of Perma-Veggies (m/f/d) 20 h



    We, the Permaculture Center - Austrian Forest Garden Institute have one of the oldest edible forest gardens in Central Europe and cultivate a vegetable garden according to the principles of permaculture. Our focus is on perennial vegetables, so-called perma-veggies. An internship (m/f/d) of 20 hours per week is available for our new publication.

    If you:
    – like to work with plants and eat plant-based food
    – you are interested in herbal medicine and traditional knowledge
    – are enthusiastic about permaculture and an ecological lifestyle
    – like to read books and work on the computer
    – enjoy doing research and can work in a well-structured manner
    – have good German spelling
    – like to work independently and have good communication and reflection skills
    – are looking for an exciting and varied field of work
    – want to be part of a vision of a natural lifestyle
