Send Purple Pear a PM. He's in Maitland and doing BD so he probably has a source.

What are you going to do with it? Do you only need one horn?

perhaps your energy would be better spent collecting and spreading some locally sourced manure plus making compost... feed the soil

    what!

sorry do you know me, maybe you should ask some questions before making assumptions about locally sourced goods and maybe look up biodynamic 500 horn manure.

    Hello knighter
I am glad you are off and running - the start of an exciting adventure perhaps.
Cow horns are becoming difficult to get but not impossible. Your local BD group should be able to get them for you through BAA( Biodynamic Agriculture Australia) or a friend in the abitoir would be handy. So many cows now do not wear horns that long. I wonder if a water buffalo would do - you would not need many of them.
I put down 21 horns about every second year and that is plenty for me and several others plus we do about 800 at the Hunter BD group. A local group is the way to go and if you don't have one then start one.
    best wishes

    superb purple pear

thats the vibe i was looking for thanks for for that, yeah i think i may even go to an abitoir and make some friends as i dont think i'll be pulling horns off again, once was enough.
Do you get good results with your mix?.
i worked on a permaculture project in murgon quennsland with will and megan both into permaculture and biodynamics megan said to me "i'm not into this spiritual stuff and i dont know how it works it just works".
so i'm givin it a go

The horns you get from the abattoir will still have the inner core and you will need to bury them for several months till the core loosens from the horn and you can remove it with a tapping against a log.

The spiritual stuff can be left to those who do that stuff and the evidence of the results should be enough for most. Just remember Intent - Observation - Intuition are the keys to sucess in BD as in all things.
