You share in the 'Hello from South Carolina' thread, and thankfully I'm subscribed and haven't missed too much. It's basically become Eco's blog too. Good to see that you sorted your issues and now I'm wondering if your ID of my worms was off. Since my population explosions, most have settled down to be a standard looking worm, if not all Red Wrigglers (Indian Blues too?) and they are doing the business, like clockwork. I've expanded into another bathtub at another property, and these worms aren't fed and are just surviving off their bedding of horse manure. I've got to consider what would be best for a 'permaculture-y feed' for them, maybe a mix of leaf litter and grass clippings at times just to give them something to digest than their own bacteria. I'm really glad that the business is doing well. Well done.
