A young 12 year old in Australia just won a top science award for discovering that Chickens fed live worms lay bigger eggs. He discovered this after his chooks got into his worm farm. The boy then went on to prove the theory worked and won a Eureka Science Award.

Just reading on the other thread about Black Soldier Flies. Their grubs and larve are full of protien just like worms and chooks love them. They should in theory have the same effect on the size of the eggs. I cut and pasted this link from the Black Soldier Fly thread that Stubby put up just in case you missed it.

Feeding these natural foods would cut down the need to feed grains and layers mash.
