https://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-wa...-that-a-fifth-of-its-farmland-is-contaminated It's good that China is trying to be honest about this, and it would be awesome if other nations filed a similar report. It's not just their farmland that's polluted either. And in a completely unrelated report, two scientists gathered the data to prove that the US is an Oligarchy: https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746 I know, I know, you're probably thinking, "Yeah we knew that", but it's always nice when the data backs you up. I'm unsure if this is the initial release of the data or if it's been peer reviewed.
after reading about various Chinese agricultural and environmental practices nothing in that report surprised me. for years they've used so many *cides that there are entire regions which have no native pollinators. in some grain growing regions they've poisoned all of the birds to keep them from feeding on the grain. and now they are buying up land in other countries... see if they try to buy off regulators, environmentalists, water rights, etc. i don't think the USoA is far behind them in some regards.
Well this is rather stunning: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-06-18/fubar-ii-china-must-import-more-water-us-imports-oil China imported more fresh water last year than the USA imported oil. They also do not enough productive land to support their population. Something has to give...
